Buying guide: what actually matters
Not all Cotswolds Tours Stop in the Cotswolds!
Most Cotswolds tours do stop in The Cotswolds and visit the villages but a few tours include the word Cotswolds in their title but the tour doesn't stop, it's just a scenic drive through the area. Read the tour description carefully to decide which type of tour you want to go on.
Not all Cotswolds Tours Spend as Much Time in The Cotswolds as Others
Some tours are totally dedicated to The Cotswolds and its villages. Others split their time between major sights as well as a more limited visit to The Cotswolds.
Small group vs large coach
Large group tours are less expensive than a small group. Small group tours offer a more personable experience and are able to travel along narrow winding country lanes adding to the overall experience.
Should You Include an Optional Lunch?
Where optional lunch is available, the tour operators have obtained special prices and pre-booked reservations. For those who want a proper lunch this is strongly advisable to book. Although there are cafes and light meals available in the villages, some cafes and pubs can get very busy at lunchtime.
Only Premium Tours, Golden Tours and International Friends build an optional pub or inn lunch into the booking flow. Everyone else leaves you free time to sort your own food in the villages.

Which Tour Should You Choose?
Why the Advertised Price Isn't the Full Story
The advertised price of many Cotswolds tours from London can be misleading. Tour operators often display a starting price that covers the coach journey but excludes important parts of the itinerary, such as entrance tickets and lunch.
For example, a tour advertised as visiting Blenheim Palace may not include admission to the palace in the published price. As most visitors will want to visit the attractions featured in their tour, these additional costs can make a significant difference to the final price.
Unfortunately, the full cost often only becomes clear once you begin the booking process. This makes it difficult to compare tours fairly. A tour that initially appears cheaper may actually cost more once the extras are added.
That's why we've created our Cotswolds tour comparison page. We show both the advertised starting price and the total price including entrance tickets and lunch, where applicable. This allows you to compare similar tours at a glance, understand what's included and see the real cost without having to go through the booking process.
At Tourist England, we believe in price transparency. Our aim is to make it easier for you to choose the right Cotswolds tour with a clear understanding of what you'll actually pay.
The operators, at a glance
Premium Tours
Premium Tours runs day trips from London covering everything from a dedicated three-village Cotswolds day to a single 12.5-hour tour that also takes in Stonehenge, Bath and Stratford-upon-Avon.
Evan Evans Tours
Evan Evans Tours has been running sightseeing tours from London for close to 90 years and is part of The Travel Corporation, a family of long-established travel brands. Every seat comes with a complimentary audio guide as standard.
Golden Tours
Founded in 1984 and based in Central London, Golden Tours is one of London's longest-established coach tour operators. Alongside day trips, the company also runs open-top sightseeing buses in London, Windsor and York.
Rabbie's
Rabbie's runs small-group day tours from London in 16-seat mini-coaches, keeping every departure capped at 16 travellers so the vehicle can reach places a full-size coach can't.
International Friends
International Friends has specialised in small-group touring for more than 20 years, in a luxury small coach, keeping every departure to a maximum of 16 travellers, which gives you more interaction with the tour guide. Tours collect from convenient Central London locations.
We have worked closely with these five tour companies for many years, building strong relationships that allow us to provide more detailed information than is often available on their own websites.
While each tour operator naturally focuses on promoting its own tours, our aim is different. We want to make it easier for you to compare the options, understand what's included and choose the tour that best suits your interests and budget.
Please note that all tour timings are approximate and may vary depending on traffic conditions and other unforeseen circumstances on the day.
