Oxford & The Cotswolds with Pub Lunch Tour - Small Group from London
Our small group Oxford & Cotswolds tour from London visits two of England’s most historic locations. We spend the morning in the medieval university town of Oxford, followed by a delicious lunch, if selected, in a 14th-century pub in the Cotswolds. The Cotswolds are an area of outstanding natural beauty, and after lunch, we explore its ancient villages and hamlets. You will be accompanied by an expert guide throughout the tour.

Oxford
Bodleian Library and Christ Church College
Oxford University was founded in 1096 AD, and our guide will lead a 1-1½ hour walking tour.
The first stop is Christ Church College, founded in 1548 by King Henry VIII. As we stroll along ancient streets and narrow lanes, we pass the iconic Bodleian Library, the oldest library in Europe, and many more sites with our guide giving explanations and insights, including about the many famous past students.
We will visit the medieval Divinity School, the oldest building still used by the university.
You will also have time to explore at your leisure.
We will spend approximately 2 hours in Oxford.
The Cotswolds

The Cotswolds is one of the most beautiful parts of the English countryside, with its gently rolling hills, green pastures, grazing sheep, and winding narrow lanes passing through idyllic villages and hamlets. This is picture-postcard England. We will make photo stops as we drive through the beautiful, narrow, winding lanes and through stunning centuries-old villages.
Our small executive minicoach enables us to drive along the narrowest of these lanes and through some locations not accessible to large group tours. Our first stop is in the village of Burford, known as ‘The Gateway to the Cotswolds,’ with its former weaver cottages, built in honey-colored stone, which exude history and the calm of a bygone age. We stay in Burford to enjoy a traditional pub lunch. (Lunch is optional and can be added at checkout.)

We will spend approximately 1 hour in the ancient village of Burford before continuing to the equally pretty villages of Bibury and Bourton on the Water, known as the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds,’ for its bridges that crisscross the village center. Our final stop is the medieval town of Stow on the Wold, with its antique shops and vibrant market square,
In the Cotswolds, there will be opportunities for short walks in each village. The actual walking distances involved are very small.
Spend approximately 4 hours exploring The Cotswolds before returning to London.

• Entrance fees to The Divinity School (subject to closure, an alternative college may be included).
• Lunch can be added on the booking form. It is normally in The Lamb Inn, Burford. However, this is subject to change.
• On Sundays, the tour operates in reverse.
