Stonehenge Inner Circle & Windsor Castle Tour

Experience the mystery of Stonehenge early in the morning or late in the afternoon on this special access tour that is available on selected Mondays and Saturdays throughout the year.

While most Stonehenge tours allow you to view Stonehenge from behind a rope, this tour allows you to enter the inner circle, get up close, touch the stones, and fully appreciate the sheer size and scale of this gigantic Neolithic monument.

The tour also includes a visit to the picturesque riverside town of Royal Windsor. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants where you can enjoy a late breakfast or an early dinner. The 900-year-old Windsor Castle is located in the heart of the town, and you can choose to visit this royal residence of King Charles III.

Limited Availability

The tour operates either in the early morning or the late afternoon, and you can see these options on our booking page  To preserve the stone circles, English Heritage, which looks after this UNESCO World Heritage Site, allows very limited access to enter inside the stone circle. We, therefore, strongly recommend booking tickets well in advance.

Stonehenge: The Inner Access Experience

These magnificent stone circles were constructed over 5,000 years ago and are perched majestically on top of Salisbury Plain.  Upon entering the stone circle, you will notice intricate carvings, including what appear to be those of human figures. The Central Altar Stone was perhaps used for sacrifices, whilst the Heel Stone aligns with the sunrise and the summer solstice. It is known for its architectural sophistication, with multiple stages of construction over time, as well as its astrological alignment. The purpose of the site remains unclear, shrouded in mystery and intrigue, and it has become a global symbol of the Neolithic era.
