Our most popular private day tour travels from Edinburgh to Loch Ness and the Highlands. We offer a private version of our group tour which can be customized according to your interests. Highlights include:
- Take in spectacular views as you depart Edinburgh and drive into the Highlands
- Stop for photos along the way, including at Glencoe
- Explore the shores of Loch Ness. You can choose to take a boat ride along the loch and try to spot Nessie, the Loch Ness monster!

Isle of Skye Private Tour – 3 Days
Isle of Skye on a private tour
The Isle of Skye is home to some of the most iconic landscapes in the country. Our private tour from Edinburgh is based on our 3-day group tour. We normally recommend staying two nights in a hotel in Inverness. Highlights of a private tour include:
- Spend the first day journeying north into the Scottish Highlands. Visit Doune Castle, pass by spectacular scenery including Glencoe and Ben Nevis, as well as viewing the Glenfinnan Viaduct. End the day in Inverness, the capital of the Highlands
- The second day is devoted to the Isle of Skye. We’ll drive onto the island and spend a day exploring many of the most iconic locations including Portree, the Trotternish Peninsula and The Old Man of Storr. We’ll also visit Eilean Donan Castle before returning to Inverness
- On the third day, we drive south towards Edinburgh. Highlights of the day include visiting Culloden Battlefield, the Highland Folk Museum, the Dalwhinnie Whisky Distillery and the Highland village of Dunkeld. We can also design the day to include a visit to the university city of St Andrews
Highlands Private Tour – 2 Days
Our 2-day private tour to the Highlands is based on our 2-day group tour. We can also customize it to include sights from our 1-day and 3-day tour, with an overnight stay in Inverness. Highlands include
- Depart Edinburgh and visit the ancient university town of St Andrews, which is also the home of golf in Scotland. We will also stop at the picturesque town of Pitlochry
- Enjoy wonderful scenic views as we drive into the Cairngorm National Park
- Spend the evening discovering Inverness, the capital of the Highlands
- Start the second day with a trip to Loch Ness. Visitors can enjoy a river cruise and explore the pretty village of Fort Augustus
- Enjoy magnificent views as we drive through Glencoe, stop at the Glenfinnan Viaduct and pass through the Highlands countryside
