Conwy Castle
Highlights:
- Depart Holyhead, with a drive across Anglesey, the largest island in Wales
- Head to Caernarfon and visit Caernarfon Castle, built in 1283 by King Edward 1, the most famous castle in Wales. This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site where you’ll find impressive towers and fortified defences with magnificent views. (entry fees not included)
- From here, drive into the rugged Welsh Countryside, with an excursion into Snowdonia National Park. This region is famous for its stunning mountainous scenery, diversity of wildlife, and amazing views. We’ll drive along narrow country lanes to give you a true Wales experience.
- Enjoy the scenery from Padarn Lake and Dolbadain Castle and visit the National Slate Museum which explores this ancient craft.
- Visit Conwy, which is a medieval town next to the 13th century Conwy Castle. You can choose to explore the town or enter the castle (entrance fees not included)
- As we return to Holyhead port, pass by Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, the actual name of a town in North Wales! If you are wondering how to pronounce it, check out this video here 🙂
- We arrive back at Holyhead at least 1 hour before your cruise ship departs
