Day 1 – Crossing the Channel & Arrival in Bastogne
Your journey begins with a private transfer from your London hotel to Folkestone or Dover Ferry Terminal, where you meet your guide and transfer to his vehicle. During your crossing of the English Channel, your guide will give a briefing on Hitler’s “last throw of the dice” and the Allied response to the German offensive. Upon arrival in Calais, you will drive through Belgium to Bastogne, the symbolic heart of the Battle of the Bulge. Time permitting, you will visit Place McAuliffe, where your guide introduces the heroic stand of Brigadier General Anthony McAuliffe and the famous “Nuts!” reply that echoed around the world. Day 2 – The Offensive Begins: The Northern Shoulder

After breakfast, depart the hotel at 09:00 hrs to explore the German Sixth Panzer Army’s ferocious push across the Northern Shoulder. Highlights include Hollerath, where you’ll stand beside the Dragon’s Teeth of the Siegfried Line and walk among foxholes once occupied by the 277th Volksgrenadier Division; key positions held by the U.S. 99th Infantry Division, whose soldiers held firm against impossible odds; and the route of SS-Obersturmbannführer Joachim Peiper’s Kampfgruppe, whose drive across the Northern Shoulder left a trail of destruction. The day concludes with a visit to the excellent December 1944 Museum in La Gleize, where you’ll see one of the few surviving King Tiger tanks, a haunting relic of German might halted in its tracks. Day 3 – Holding the Line: The Counterattack

Today, trace the desperate American defence and the Allied counterattack against General von Manteuffel’s Fifth Panzer Army, which tore a deep wedge into the Allied front. Visit Saint-Vith, where the 106th Infantry Division fought bravely under encirclement; Parker’s Crossroads, where small-unit actions and improvised roadblocks delayed the German advance; and other key points showing how British and American forces under Field Marshal Montgomery joined Patton’s men to push back the Bulge and turn near disaster into triumph. Overnight in Bastogne.
Day 4 – Bastogne: Besieged and Relieved
101st Airborne Eagle Memorial, Bastogne
Check out at 09:00 hrs for your final day — a moving exploration of Bastogne’s siege and liberation. Visit the positions of the 10th Armored Division and the 101st Airborne Division and hear how General George S. Patton’s Third Army broke through the German encirclement to lift the siege. Standing here the echoes of history are unmistakable. With the tour complete, you will return to the UK, arriving back at Folkestone or Dover Ferry Terminal with a private transfer back to London.
