Day 1

• Travel through the stunning ‘Cotswolds’, an area of outstanding natural beauty.
• Continue onto the Welsh Border and stop at the ancient town of Hay-on-Wye, known as the town of books.
• Pass the Elan Valley with its winding rivers and the impressive Cambrian Mountains, known as the ‘backbone of Wales’ with its rugged moorlands and treasured wildlife.
• In the early evening, arrive at the picturesque seaside town of Aberystwyth. The town is situated on the West Coast and boasts a long promenade, a historic pier, and beautiful beaches.
• You will stay for 2 nights in Aberystwyth.

dAY 2

• Journey into Snowdonia National Park, with its rugged mountain peaks and valleys.
• Visit the village of Beddgelert, with its narrow streets and stone cottages.
  
• Spend the rest of the day at Harlech Castle.  Explore this ancient fortress built in 1282 with its battlements, exhibits, and spectacular views of Snowdonia and towards the Irish Sea.

Day 3:

Begin with a scenic drive along Cardigan Bay, passing the picturesque town of Aberaeron

Stop at the sandy harbour town of New Quay, where the writer and poet Dylan Thomas lived. You might even spot some dolphins and whales

Visit the beautiful Newton House on the Dinefwr Estate. Built in 1600, the house has grand reception rooms, ornate decorations, and fine art. From the house, step into the delightful fountain gardens. A Nature Reserve surrounds the house with an 18th-century landscaped Deer Park.

Head towards the South Coast of Wales to Laugharne, where Dylan Thomas lived the final few years of his life and where he wrote his masterpiece ‘Under Milk Wood.’ Described by Thomas as “a timeless, mild, beguiling island of a town.”

Arrive at the seaside town of Tenby, where you will stay for 2 nights

Day 4:

St Davids Cathedral.

This day is dedicated to exploring the South West of Wales

Enjoy the spectacular coastline of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park

Discover the imposing cathedral city of St Davids with time for lunch and to explore. The location of St Davids Cathedral, nestled almost hidden in a grassy hollow beneath the tiny city, adds to the very special atmosphere that most visitors feel when they come here.

Day 5:

Journey past the industrial heartland of Wales to the fascinating National Museum of History at St Fagans. Explore the stories of the people of Wales.

The Museum stands in the grounds of St Fagans Castle.

Journey towards London, crossing the Welsh border

Stop at the picture postcard village of Castle Combe in the Cotswolds. This 16th century village is one of the prettiest in England with its honey colored stone properties.

From here we return to central London.
