Stay overnight in Inverness and discover the capital of the Highlands. Visit Loch Ness, where the alleged Loch Ness monster was sighted and enjoy a boat ride or explore Urquhart Castle. Discover the picture-postcard town of Pitlochry, and take an optional visit to the whisky distillery. itinerary: Loch Ness and Inverness Highland Tour
Depart Edinburgh at 08:45am you’ll head north to the highlands, crossing the River Forth along the way. Arrive at the Victorian town of Pitlochry for lunch, and enjoy the picture postcard surroundings. From here, there is an optional visit to a local whisky distillery to see and learn how whisky made. Next stop is Cairngorm National Park, an area of outstanding beauty and home to the Rothiemurchus Estate. The area is abundant with natural wildlife and home to the Scots pine tree. Finally, head to Inverness, capital of the Scottish Highlands, where you will check in at your local accommodation. Free time in the evening lets you explore the highlights of the city.
Day 2 of our Loch Ness and Inverness Highland Tour begins with a journey to Loch Ness, admiring the stunning countryside along the way. Explore Loch Ness either by taking a boat ride along the loch or by exploring the impressive ruins of Urquhart Castle. Enjoy lunch on the shore of the Loch in the pretty village of Fort Augustus. From here, head to Glencoe, passing along the way Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the British Isles. Glencoe is a valley of volcanic origins with spectacular views of the countryside. It was also the scene of a massacre in 1692 when many of the Macdonald Clan were murdered. Finally, return to Edinburgh in time for the evening.

Tour departs at 08:45 from Rabbie’s Cafe, 6 Waterloo Place, Edinburgh, EH1 3E. The tour returns to Edinburgh at approximately 19:00.
The tour includes transportation in a Mercedes 16-seater minibus, a fully licensed tour guide and 1 night accommodation in a bed and breakfast
