The Nicolaes Maes exhibition takes place at the National Gallery in London from 22 February to 31 May 2020. Maes was a student of Rembrandt, who went on to become one of the leading portrait painters of his time. This is the first exhibition in the UK devoted to his work, and includes nearly 50 paintings and drawings. From illicit goings-on in servants’ quarters to portraits of high society, Nicolaes Maes captured life upstairs and downstairs in the Dutch Golden Age.
The Nicolaes Maes exhibition is on display at the National Gallery in London for 3 months, from 22 February to 31 May 2020. You can see more about the exhibition here.
