New Year’s Concert, Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, London, December 28th 2017
Beethoven’s 9th Symphony will be performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London on December 28th 2017. The orchestra will be joined by members of Goldsmiths Choral Union, Highgate Choral Society and The London Chorus for a performance of this epic work, considered by many to be one of the greatest pieces of classical music of all time. Beethoven’s Symphony is easily recognizable for its iconic ‘Ode to Joy’ theme, which has entered into the heart of popular culture and is currently the national anthem of the European Union. The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is joined by guest conductor and the program also includes Beethoven Piano Concerto No.5 ‘Emperor’.
