New Musicals on in London, February 2020
From 5 Feb – The Prince of Egypt – journey through Ancient Egypt in this highly-anticipated production essentially based upon the Book of Exodus. The Prince of Egypt is based on the 1998 DreamWorks animated film featuring the epic song ‘When You Believe’
From 14 Feb – Pretty Woman: The Musical, brings one of the most beloved romances of all time to the West End stage. Based on the 1990 film starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere, the show opens on Valentines Day at London’s Piccadilly Theatre
From 12 Feb – Be More Chill – a sci-fi teen musical phenomenon with a Tony Award®-nominated score. The story of nerdy teen angst and technology, this original and hilarious show runs from February to May 2020
New Plays on in London, February 2020
From 4 Feb to 28 Mar – Endgame/Rough for Theatre II stars Daniel Radcliffe, best known for his iconic role in the Harry Potter movies, alongside Alan Cumming in this double bill. Endgame, Samuel Beckett’s one-act play, is presented alongside Rough for Theatre II, a rarely performed work by Beckett.
From 5 Feb to 14 March – Collapsible, a hilarious new monologue about holding on in this collapsing world. From award-winning Irish writer Margaret Perry, Collapsible won the outstanding new work award at 2019 VAULT Festival.
From 5-29 Feb – Time and Tide is an LGBT comic drama about a Norfolk community struggling with change. This is a world premiere production by James McDermott
From 7 Feb to 25 Apr – Upstart Crow, Ben Elton’s popular BBC sitcom, comes to the stage in an all-new comic play. On show at The Gielgud Theatre from 7 February to 25 April 2020.
From 8 Feb to 21 Mar – The High Table, an epic family drama, is on show at the Bush Theatre in London.
From 12 Feb to 21 March – La Cage aux Folles, a popular French farce written by Jean Poiret, is presented in English at the Park Theatre. The original French production was so popular that it ran for almost 1,800 performances and was seen by over 1 million people!
From 13 Feb to 21 Mar – Pass Over is a politically charged new play by Antoinette Nwandu fusing poetry, humour and humanity
From 24-29 Feb – The Tin Drum, written by the Nobel prize-winning author Günter Grass, is brought to the stage for five performances only at The Coronet Theatre
New Dance Shows in London, February 2020
From 6 Feb to 21 Mar – Message in a Bottle is a new dance theatre show that brings the music of Sting to life. Hear iconic songs including Roxanne, Every Breath You Take, Walking on the Moon, Fields of Gold and Englishman In New York, with choreography by Kate Prince.
From 6-22 Feb – maliphantworks3, a work by award-winning choreographer Russell Maliphant
From 20-23 Feb – Alina Cojocaru, the principal dancer at the English National Ballet presents a programme of classical and contemporary works.
New Opera Productions Opening in London, February 2020
From Jan 29 to 27 Feb – Bizet’s Carmen comes to the London Coliseum for a 1-month run, presented by the English National Opera.
From 5 Feb to 7 March – Opera Undone: Tosca and La Boheme is presented in a unique and highly accessible format designed to appeal to non-traditional audiences.
From 12 Feb to 6 Mar- Verdi’s Luisa Miller is on show at the London Coliseum, presented by the English National Opera.
From 26 Feb to 17 April – Madam Butterfly, the world-famous opera by Puccini, is on show at the London Coliseum. This is one of the greatest operatic works of all time and features some of the most beautiful arias’s ever written
