The Platinum Jubilee Exhibition is showing at Windsor Castle from Thursday, 7 July until Monday, 26 September 2022. As part of the events marking the 70th anniversary of the accession of Queen Elizabeth II, visitors to Windsor Castle will be able to see a special display commemorating the Queen’s Coronation which took place on 2 June 1953.
A visit to the exhibition is included in a regular admission ticket to Windsor Castle, which is open five days a week, Thursday to Monday.
Platinum Jubilee Exhibition Highlights
See the Coronation Dress that the Queen wore on that day. This extraordinary dress is made of sating and includes gold and silver thread, silks, pearls, sequins and crystals.
Also see the Robe of Estate worn by The Queen. This is the robe that was worn at the end of the coronation ceremony. It took 12 embroideresses, using 18 different types of gold thread, more than 3,500 hours to complete the work between March and May 1953.
