The Queen's Accession Exhibition, Buckingham Palace
The Queen’s Accession Exhibition, marking her Platinum Jubilee, will take place at Buckingham Palace from Friday, 22 July until Sunday, 2 October 2022. The exhibition will showcase portraits of the new Queen which were taken just a few weeks after she ascended the throne in 1952. These photos formed the basis of the picture used on postage stamps from 1953 to 1971. The exhibition will also showcase personal jewellery that was worn for the portrait settings, as well as a diamond tiara that was given to Princess Elizabeth as a wedding present from Queen Mary.
The Queen’s Accession Exhibition will take place at Buckingham Palace until October 2022 as part of a visit to The State Rooms.
This exhibition has been cancelled following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
