Favourite Things to do in London
One of the great things about London is that there is always something new to discover. Tourist England spoke with six super travel bloggers about their favourite things to do in London. From amazing food tours to famous museums, sightseeing cruises and afternoon tea, your biggest dilemma will be where to visit first!
1. natural history museum:

The Natural History Museum
Cory from You Could Travel:
“My favourite thing to do in London is to visit the Natural History Museum in Kensington. My husband and I are both huge David Attenborough fans, so ever since he made a series in the museum, we love going there to explore it for hours. It became a bit of a tradition for us. When in London, we go to the Natural History Museum, spend half a day there, then we take the subway to Ealing and eat Japanese food there. Ealing is our favourite neighbourhood in London.”
2. cruise along the thames:
Jamie from Explore With Ed:
“Cruising along the Thames is a cool way to see London’s iconic landmarks from a different and uninterrupted perspective. There are a couple of piers to hop onboard, such as the ones near the Tower of London, Westminster Bridge and O2 Arena. One of my highlights so far was passing under Tower Bridge at sunset and seeing the Shard, London Eye and Westminster lit up against the darkening skies. There are many ways you can enjoy the sights on the water, even over Afternoon Tea with City Cruises or the a more exhilarating speedboat ride with River Rockets.”
3. afternoon tea:

Afternoon Tea
Tamason at Travelling Book Junkie:
“There is nothing more traditional, when hitting the Capital, than experiencing Afternoon Tea. Whether you want to enjoy a conventional setting or try something completely new, like riding around on an old-fashioned, quintessential, bright red London bus glimpsing the iconic landmarks of the city as you sip at your Darjeeling, there are hundreds of different settings to choose from. From themed Afternoon Teas to more sophisticated High Teas at some of the fanciest hotels in the whole of Britain, for me there is nothing more English than an indulgent afternoon tasting familiar and sometimes more exotic teas from the far-flung corners of the world.”
4. food markets:
Vicky from Flip Flop Travels:
“My favourite thing to do in London is to check out the food markets. I like to pick one area per time with a friend and just walk around taking in the food odours, seeing what’s new, taking photos and sharing a few dishes. You can travel the world via the likes of Borough Market, Southbank Centre Food Market and Dinerama in London. Delicious! And I’m sure all that walking around kinda burns the calories off, maybe.”
5. camden town:

Camden Town
Nikki from Where is Nikki?:
“Known for its alternative culture, Camden Town is a quirky neighbourhood with a vibrant atmosphere and one of my favourite spots in London. Here you will find an eclectic market, featuring tasty street food from around the world and lots of stalls selling unique products to take home. Once you’re done shopping, you can take a leisurely stroll down Camden Lock or relax by Regent’s Canal. A must-visit for anyone looking for a different kind of shopping experience in London!”
6. feeling the vibe:
Lauretta from Home and Horizon:
“There’s no better way of getting to know a city (and some of the best places to eat and hang out) than on a walking food tour. Every city I travel to, I try to do one – even in my home town – as you learn so much. My other favourite thing to do in London is grab a coffee and sit down to do some people watching – great places for this are Covent Garden, Portobello Road, Trafalgar Square and Leicester Square. Last but not least, it’s shopping in Oxford Street, as it offers a great mix of shops to cater to all tastes.”
